Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) strikes more than 350,000 Americans each year — nearly one death every two minutes. Giving CPR and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) early nearly doubles the chance of survival. For each minute without such treatment, the chance of survival decreases 7–10 percent.
The Iowa Heart Foundation awards AEDs in an effort to increase survival rates for people who experience SCA.
Eligibility - Iowa non-profit organizations, government entities, and public and private schools.
Priority for placement will be awarded based upon the financial need, population and number served, location, and proposed impact.
If your organization is in need of and could benefit from an AED, please fill out the application below.
Due to an overwhelming response and supply chain issues we do not anticipate AED availability until the 2nd half of 2023.
