AED Placement Program

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) strikes more than 350,000 Americans each year — nearly one death every two minutes. Giving CPR and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) early nearly doubles the chance of survival. For each minute without such treatment, the chance of survival decreases 7–10 percent.

The Iowa Heart Center Foundation program awards AEDs to Iowa non-profits and community organizations in an effort to increase survival rates for people who experience SCA.

Priority for placement will be awarded based upon the Iowa organization, demonstrated financial need, population and number served and proposed impact of the scope of placement.

If your organization or company is in need of and could benefit from an AED, please fill out the application below or complete and send this PDF. All applicants must include a tax ID number and financials or budgetary information, which may assist in determining financial need. Applications will be reviewed quarterly.

If your organization or company currently has an AED but is need of funds to replace the battery or ECG pads, please fill out the application below.  All applicants must include a tax ID number.
