Careers in Cardiology
Iowa faces significant shortages of healthcare workers, including cardiology professionals. To help address this challenge, Iowa Heart Foundation is dedicated to engaging and inspiring the next generation of healthcare Through career fairs and outreach events across the state, we educate students on careers in cardiology as well as bringing in current professionals to connect with them. Our goal is to spark interest in healthcare careers and help build a strong pipeline of skilled cardiovascular and healthcare professionals who will serve Iowa communities for years to come.
Supporting Cardiovascular Fellows
Iowa Heart Foundation provided the funding to support the launch of the state’s 3rd Cardiology Fellowship program in Iowa at MercyOne Iowa Heart Center in 2018. The program accepts three new fellows in training each year for a total of nine fellows in the three-year training program.
American College of Cardiology Management Services
Iowa Heart Foundation provides the management services for the Iowa Chapter of the American College of Cardiology which serves as the professional home for cardiovascular team members.
