8th Annual Run For Your Life

The 8th Annual Run For Your Life run/walk event was held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Des Moines Water Works Park with almost 200 registrants including 10 "teams". There were 30 Carlisle High School Cheer Squad members and 50 volunteers that helped make this year's event memorable. AED Access for All volunteers, Susie & Butch Gibbs, demonstrated hands-only CPR while Troy Armstrong with the Decatur County Hospital Mass Casualty Response Trailer provided information on emergency response in rural areas. Funds raised by this event supports placement of 4 AEDs in the coming year.
About the Iowa Heart Foundation
The mission of the Iowa Heart Foundation is to promote cardiovascular health in our communities through increasing awareness, providing access to information and assisting those in need. The Foundation initiatives are carried out in the following areas: charitable healthcare services, professional education and community service.
